Consequences of violation:
Immediate termination of the session without refund
Unauthorized recording will be pursued through all available legal remedies including civil action for breach of contract, invasion of privacy, and any other applicable cause of action in the relevant jurisdiction
Faren Zayda Sojourner reserves the right to terminate any session immediately upon reasonable suspicion of unauthorized recording and to pursue legal action without further notice
Service termination and discontinuation of all future services
By booking and attending sessions, clients explicitly consent to this no-recording policy and confirm that no recording technology of any kind is active during sessions.
5. Client Eligibility, Environment, and Attendance Requirements
Private, Confidential Environment
Clients agree to:
Attend in a completely private, confidential environment where no third parties can observe or overhear
Ensure no third-party presence unless explicitly approved in writing by Faren Zayda Sojourner
Ensure no recording or surveillance devices of any kind

Only booked clients may attend sessions. No additional observers, participants, or undisclosed third parties are permitted without written consent. This includes:
Children or family members in the same room
Roommates or partners (even if not speaking)
Workplace observers
Anyone with access to shared screens or audio
Violation may result in immediate termination and full session fee charged.
Sobriety and Fitness for Session
Clients must attend all sessions in a completely sober state, free from the influence of alcohol, recreational drugs, or impairing substances. If a client is determined to be intoxicated, unsafe, or acting in violation of safety standards, the practitioner reserves the right to terminate the session immediately, and the full session fee remains due and non-refundable.
6. Appointment Scheduling, Prepayment, and Payment Authorization
Prepayment Requirement
Appointments are scheduled through Jane. Current fees are posted on the booking site and are subject to change with reasonable notice. Pricing is in Canadian dollars unless otherwise specified.
Payment is due and must be completed up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled session unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed to in writing. Non-payment may result in automatic cancellation of the appointment, with the balance outstanding.
Payment Authorization
By booking an appointment, clients authorize:
Automatic charging of stored payment methods
Repeated payment attempts if initial charge fails
Processing via third-party payment systems as specified during booking
Failed Payment Consequences
If payment is not completed before session start time:
Appointment may be automatically cancelled
Full session fee remains owed and due
Session slot may be immediately released to waitlist clients
Original client remains financially responsible for the full session fee
Outstanding Balances
Unpaid balances or declined transactions may result in:
Prepayment requirement (by credit card or other method) for all future bookings
Service suspension until payment is received
Written collection notices
Referral to a third-party debt collection agency without further notice
Referral to a debt collection agency does not constitute a breach of confidentiality where such referral is made solely for the purpose of recovering an outstanding debt. Only the minimum personal information necessary to facilitate collection will be disclosed, in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.
Insurance Claims and Receipts
Insurance receipts are issued only upon completion of an attended session and will reflect the session rate at the time of service. Insurance claims cannot be submitted before services have been rendered. All fees remain payable regardless of insurance reimbursement status.
7. Cancellation, Rescheduling, and No-Show Policy
Free Rescheduling (More than 24 hours notice)
Rescheduling is free of charge if requested more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. Prepaid session fees will automatically transfer as account credit to the new time slot.
Late Cancellation and 24-Hour Window
Rescheduling or cancellation within 24 hours of the appointment is treated as a late cancellation and is charged the full session fee. No credit is issued.
No-Shows
Clients are expected to arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time. A courtesy reminder will be sent at 10 minutes without client contact. If a client has not arrived or made contact by 15 minutes after the scheduled start time, the session is recorded as a no-show and is non-refundable. This policy is strictly enforced for initial sessions due to necessary intake assessment time.
For clients who are chronically late, a prepayment and a shorter arrival requirement of 10-minutes may be implemented.
Discretionary Emergency Credit
In cases of documented, verifiable emergency, a discretionary partial credit may be applied at the sole discretion of the practitioner, provided the appointment is rebooked within 7 days. This credit is not an obligation and may be denied at the practitioner's discretion.
Reserved Time Policy
All appointment times are reserved exclusively for the client and cannot be recovered once scheduled. Any portion of scheduled session time that is missed, delayed, interrupted, or not attended by the client for any reason (including late arrival, connectivity failure on client side, failure to attend, or leaving early) is considered lost and is not subject to rescheduling, extension, refund, credit, or make-up.

13. Technology and Session Platforms
Platform Use and Consent
All sessions are conducted through secure, encrypted virtual platforms consistent with PHIPA requirements. Primary platforms are Jane, Teleo, and Bilateral Base. Psychology Today Sessions may be used as a backup platform in the event of technical difficulties.

Practitioner Availability and Emergency Protocols
Due to the geographic location of the practice, unforeseen circumstances may arise that affect session availability, including internet disruption, personal emergency, or other situations requiring immediate cancellation or rescheduling with short notice.
In the event the therapist cannot attend a scheduled session, an assistant will attempt to contact the client as soon as communication is possible. However, in cases of total internet outage or emergency, immediate notification may not be possible.
Clients are not expected to wait more than 15 minutes for session start. If the therapist has not appeared and no communication has been received within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time, clients may end the session without penalty.
