About Faren…
Faren Z. Sojourner was born and raised on the East Rand of Johannesburg, South Africa. At the age of 23, she immigrated to Canada, where she worked in mental healthcare with children and adults, as well as in street outreach for nine years before becoming a dual citizen. After many years dedicated to her own personal healing and the growth of her Christian faith, she began her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University. Upon graduation, she relocated to South America as a missionary with her husband, best friend, and co-worker, Benjamin, under the Action International umbrella.
Faren began reading her mother’s psychology textbooks “for fun” as early as age 12. Her mother, a counsellor and teacher, encouraged her to always “ask why,” which led her to think critically about life, meaning, and truth. As the youngest of five siblings and with over a decade of experience working with children, in education, and with families, Faren’s love for people, the family structure, and children is deeply rooted.
Faren’s work is grounded in Christ, reality, sound-mindedness, and heart-to-heart reasoning. Her story, bicultural background, and unrelenting belief in Christ form the cornerstone of her approach, naturally inspiring and challenging others.
